Frequently Asked Questions

Q?
What is home-based physical therapy?
A.
Home-based physical therapy is not the same as home healthcare. The Rebound Group is an outpatient physical therapy company that essentially makes house calls.
Q?
Why is home-based physical therapy right for me?
A.
Our services are perfect for many different people and for many different reasons. Our clients include active and independent adults, post-surgical clients and assisted living residents to name a few. Also, patients who no longer qualify for home care services under Medicare Part A may advance to our In-Home Physical Therapy program. Our patients do not need to have "home bound" status as our services are also perfect for people who want quality, one-on-one care or simply avoid traveling to a physical therapy clinic.
Q?
I’m getting surgery and won’t be able to get to the outpatient clinic right away. Can I use the Rebound Group and progress to a clinic?
A.
Absolutely. Upon your discharge from the hospital or surgical center, we can initiate your therapy right away according to your doctor's orders. We've learned that patients who initiate our services after surgery, then progress to an outpatient clinic, experience better overall outcomes. We will ensure a smooth transition to the outpatient clinic to streamline your care.
Q?
Can I get home physical therapy BEFORE I get surgery?
A.
Sure. Preoperative physical therapy is a great way to build strength, reduce pain, and gain overall knowledge of postoperative tasks such as using stairs, walking, transfers and home exercises. Many patients feel that preoperative treatment better prepares them for the surgical and postoperative process.
Q?
How do I obtain your services?
A.
That's easy. Just call us at 201-345-7044. We will gather some information and verify your benefits. Although it is not required for an initial evaluation, a prescription from your doctor would be needed for continued treatment. Upon completion of our evaluation, we will send a plan of care to your doctor.
Q?
Will you keep my doctor informed of my treatment?
A.
Yes. It is essential that we have close communication with your doctor at every stage of your treatment. In addition to a comprehensive evaluation, we will send progress notes approximately every 3-4 weeks to your doctor to inform him/her of your progress.
Q?
What insurances do you accept?
A.
We are licensed Medicare providers and accept most other private insurances. We will immediately verify your insurance benefits and discuss your coverage PRIOR to any physical therapy session.
Q?
I was just discharged from a home healthcare agency and need more help, can I still use The Rebound Group?
A.
Yes. Home healthcare agencies operate differently than The Rebound Group with regard to insurance. Therefore, as long as your continued treatment is medically necessary you can utilize our physical therapy services.
Q?
What if my physical therapy benefits are exhausted for the year?
A.
No problem. We offer very competitive self-pay options to satisfy any rehabilitation need that you may have. These prices are determined on a case by case basis. This would be based on each patient's need.
